Coloured Pots: Izinkamba kwamaKhaladi

The design work I did for the "Coloured Pots" exhibit provides a cozy home for Fileve Tlaloc's pottery. My work for this exhibit considers Fileve's work as well as her amaZulu roots. The identity I created included informed choices of color palette, typography, and imagery which culminated into a title wall graphic, tombstone text for all objects, advertisements for the exhibit, and thoughtfully placed enlarged photographs taken by Cedric Nunn.

The flower motif on this amaZulu beer pot on display in the gallery became the icon for this exhibit. The arching pattern I created also pays tribute to the incising on  amaZulu pottery.
